Project Updates

Pardon the Construction!

The Polk Building, which houses the Tennessee State Museum, is undergoing some outside construction. During this time it would be best to enter the museum through the main building entrance on Deaderick Street between 5th & 6th Avenues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. (The museum is closed on Mondays.)

Parking

There is no private parking for the museum. During the week, visitors must park in paid lots or at street parking meters. On weekends, visitors may park free in the state employee parking lots around the State Capitol.

All street metered spaces are free to the public Monday-Friday after 6 p.m. and Saturday after 12 p.m. and all day Sunday. (Note: some meters may have reserved jackets and are closed to public use during these times.)

Museum Store

The Museum Store will be closed June 27 and 28 while the staff is taking inventory.
