Annual Ghost Story Festival Takes Place at the Museum
on Saturday, October 25

The State Museum’s annual ghost story festival is back for its eighth year and promises to be more entertaining than ever! Haunted Museum takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. The event is free to the public, and will feature a “ghost trail” through the museum with prizes, crafts, and refreshments.

At stops along the ghost trail there will be chilling ghost stories from Tennessee’s past, including those of the Bell Witch and the Cherokee spirit, Spearfinger. The trail ends at the tall tales stage where professional storytellers will tell stories about Tennessee.

Children who complete each stop of the ghost trail will receive prizes. Those attending the Haunted Museum event are invited to wear costumes and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

This year’s guest storyteller, Diana Hague, a storyteller for almost a decade, returns to the Haunted Museum for her second year. Hague, the founder of the BoroTellers, Murfreesboro’s storytelling guild, has captivated audiences at schools, libraries and private functions across the state of Tennessee. She is best known for her folktales and stories based on historical happenings and local legend.

Located at Fifth and Deaderick Streets in downtown Nashville, the museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and is free to the public. On Saturdays, parking is free at state employee parking lots to the west of the State Capitol.
